We were very fortunate to have a 5 times British Champion triple jumper, Laura Samuel, visit Holyhead Primary Academy to complete fitness circuits with the children during the summer term. School raised money in sponsorship which was donated to Acorns Children’s hospice.
What a wonderful day! Lots of smiles and laughter from children, families and staff. We are really happy with how many families have attended the sessions to work alongside their children. We have seen children make plague masks to dreamcatchers. Children were extremely excited to dress up in their football clothes to celebrate the start of the World Cup 2018. Children donated money towards Acorns children’s hospice as well as Unicef. Children made a huge effort in dressing up and bringing in their favourite book to school to take part in the Dragon’s Den challenge.
With the support of one of the school’s community members we took years 1 to 6 to Wednesbury Town Hall to watch Jack and the Beanstalk. We had lots of laughs and it was great fun taking a family out for the day.
Working alongside Jewsons (who kindly donated the materials) our school has erected a new canopy, which houses four new learning areas – one of which is the ‘Reading Shed’.
